  • 9:40pm : Core Dev Managers were alerted by Ben Wilson that orders were not having tax applied to them
  • 9:44pm : BigMike started investigating
  • 9:55pm : enabled tax backup
  • 10:08pm : BigMike sent production notice

9/2/2025

  • 6:30am : Sucharita reached out to Avalara for support
  • 7:00am : Zoom call with Avalara to debug..determined that GCC was missing taxes for all states other than Texas
  • 11:28am : disabled tax backup (taxes were still missing from states other than Texas)

9/3/2025

  • 9:30am : GCC Accounting met with Avalara to update taxes and Avalara started investigation into cause of issue
  • 4:43pm : Ralph (THD Tax Manager) updated all websites for taxes (BC, JB, AB, and THD)

9/4/2025

  • 11:01 : BigMike sent production update resolution

We have confirmed the issue with our 3rd party taxing solution (Avalara). They are actively working to resolve the issue. It is still impacting a small subset of our orders and this has been relayed to our accounting department for awareness.

As soon as we have a solution in place from Avalara, we will have another notice sent out.

We have enabled our backup TAX software and are seeing taxes being applied now.

we are still investigating the issue, but this workaround is in place for now.
